Bloco Received a Stacks Grant
The Stacks Open Internet Foundation launched a grant program, Stacks Grant, and we decided to apply.
Stacks Open Internet Foundation is a non-profit that supports the Blockstack ecosystem. If you haven’t heard of Blockstack before, it’s a decentralized platform to build applications where users keep all ownership of their data. In 2019, we built Envelop on top of Blockstack, an open-source web and Android application.
Our Grant proposal stems from the work we did on the Envelop Android app. The Blockstack web user experience is already pretty good, but we believe things could be better on Android. Offering a native solution for managing authentication and identities could grow the Blockstack mobile audience. Envelop’s growth since launch shows there’s demand for it.
So we proposed to build an official native Blockstack Auth app…and our grant was approved 🎉
We’ve now started working on our first milestone. In the beginning of 2021 we should have a new app to show you. Until then, you can follow the progress on our project repository.
