A minimal notepad for Android

Caderno started out as a personal project. The main goal was to build a minimal note taking app. You could open and start writing immediately, with no distractions. Notes would be saved as plain text files. And you could share them with all other apps on your phone, without gimmicks.

The secondary goal was to build a great app for low-end devices. Meaning it should support all Android versions still used, while keeping the application size small and a fast performance.

A first version of Caderno was released in 2013. It was inspired by the Squarespace Note design, at the time only available for iOS. On 2015, we updated the design and added support for tablet.

The app can be used on Android 2.1 and up, and it’s size is only 217 KB. More than 32K users have installed it, and it has a 4 start rating on the Google Play Store.
